- Never given antibiotics, drugs or growth hormones - Mad Cow disease is avoided because the cattle graze naturally and are not fed animal by-products. They roam free and eat better. They are therefore leaner with less fat. - Grass fed beef contains omega 3's and CLA. Conjugated Linoleic Acid occurs naturally in beef. Research shows that CLA combats cancer, combats clogged arteries, reduces body fat, and prevents or delays diabetes. - Treated humanely and given the basic requirements of life: fresh air, space, and normal social activity. You can purchase organic/grass fed beef from natural grocery stores. |
- Fed grain and corn because it's cheaper. Corn also tends to make the stomachs of the cows acidic. - Not able to roam freely and are cramped in as many cows as possible. They are usually packed so tight that they cannot move. - Given antibiotics and other drugs because of the close quarters and high risk of sickness. - Given hormones to fatten them up. These hormones in conventional raised beef is transferred to humans. Scientists have explained that the human consumption of these hormones mimic estrogen like properties in our bodies and can result in cancer and premature puberty. - Have very little CLA benefit and do have a higher fat content. E Coli is in the intestines of most feedlot cattle since the feeding of corn and grains has caused the acidity of their stomachs to be much like humans. |
